PTO Donations and Membership: $10 per family! WHAT WE DO WITH THE MONEY WE RAISE: REWARDS: Rewards for grades and for hard work; participation prizes. EDUCATION: PTO helps get programs and educational items for students, school and teachers. BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS: We’ve been asked to help with purchasing bookshelves for classrooms. We are considering helping the school with outdoor tables and patio cover. FUN: Teacher and Staff Luncheons 3 times a year; School Dances; STAAR Snacks; Ice cream parties; Pizza parties.
We will have other fundraisers throughout the year. While dues are not required for membership, the PTO depends on your donations to do many things for children and staff of Irons Jr High. If you choose not to make any donations, we still appreciate your involvement and your time contributed to support our school.

Student orientation: Friday, August 2 - PTO will be there to answer any questions and to hand out school supplies* if you pre-ordered them online. Stop by the PTO booth and shop for new shirts that are just awesome. PTO will have some packs* for sale.
Incoming 7th Graders: 8:00-11:30
Incoming 8th Graders: 1:00-4:00
*Please note: Bulk items and items for teachers will be left at school. Please note: some teachers may request additional school items during the first days.
Orientation is a time for students to come get their schedules and become familiar with the school and some of the faculty members and some teachers who may be there, volunteering their summer vacation to help out. The PTO holds its Back to School Fundraiser by selling school supplies packs and items at the Hawks Spirit store.
Open House: Thursday, Aug. 29th, from 6 - 7:30 PM.
This is a come and go event. Irons will not be running a bell schedule. This is a time for you and your child to meet the teachers and find out important information and expectations of your child’s classes.
Required Immunizations: If you are a parent or guardian of an incoming seventh grader for the 2019- 2020 school year, please be aware Texas state law requires all students to have paperwork indicating receipt of the following immunizations before they can begin the first day of school: TDAP and MCV. If your immunizations are not up-to-date you will not receive a schedule at orientation.
